Project WILD
Project WILD (Wilderness Initiatives for Learning at Duke) is an experiential based pre-orientation program for first-year students. Project WILD provides an opportunity to acclimate to the Duke community by interacting with other first-year students as well as upperclass crew leaders. Spend two fun-filled weeks backpacking, adventuring through, and exploring beautiful Pisgah National Forest. Watch the sunrise from the top of Pilot Mountain, take a shower in the waterfalls at Otter Creek, play games under the stars at the top of Devil’s Courthouse, learn to rock climb on Cedar Rock, and pick buckets of blueberries at Shining Rock Gap. For over 30 years PWILD has been about forming lifelong friendships, exploring the world, and learning about one’s self. This August, join PWILD for the trip of a lifetime. No experience necessary- whether you’re a verified mountain man or have never slept outside in your life, this trip is for you! Click here to visit the Project WILD website.
