North Carolina Museum of Life and Science
Dr. Gary Ybarra
The NC Museum of Life and Science is home to 150 animals and hundreds of hands-on, interactive exhibits. While at the Museum we will visit the SoundSpace exhibit, which was created by the Duke Pratt School of Engineering in collaboration with the Duke Music Department. In this exhibit, body motion is translated into music. Participants can "play the room" as if it were a musical instrument. We will explore SoundSpace and discuss the technology that blends engineering with art.
