Valerie is a Class of 2010 cellular and molecular biology and religion double-major hailing from Port Chester, NY.  In addition to being BUILD director this year, she serves on Council as secretary for Mi Gente (Duke's Latino organization).  She is also extremely active with the Newman Catholic Student Center and Awakening retreat.  Aside from cheering on the football, volleyball, basketball, and lacrosse teams with the marching/pep band, she enjoys sunny weather and playing tennis.  Other interests include palindromes, ketchup, twins, Latin dancing, clouds, coincidences, and Billy Joel.  She aspires to learn her calling in life, and wishes to pursue a career in medical research.
